Berlin hosts international conference on e-learning

  The ninth international conference and a set of workshops on technology supported learning and training will take place from 3 to 5 of December, in Berlin, Germany.

During the conference a number of plenary sessions will address issues ranging from' e-learning policies in practice' to 'future technologies for learning'.

A series of workshops will take place prior to the conference and will focus on helping participants gain practical knowledge and insight into topics such as the innovative outputs of European learning technologies or the use of GRID infrastructures to support future technology enhanced learning.

Keynote speakers will include representatives from business, academia and the European Commission. The event is being organised under the patronage of the German Ministry of education and research, with the support of the European Commission.

The third Annual " European Network Revolution" : How can non-profit Organisations use the Internet?

This seminar aims to give a clear overview of the opportunities the internet has to offer to non-profit organisations - both large and small ones. The seminar will focus on recent internet and broadband developments in Europe, and will include sessions on fundraising via the internet, developing alternative media channels and workshops on website development and communications strategies. Lectures and workshops will be given by experienced practitioners. Not only will the seminar be a showcase of what is possible on the internet, but will also give in-depth information on how to implement new technologies and how one can afford them. The seminar is primarily aimed at professionals from not-for-profit fundraising organisations, communication students and other individuals aiming at a career or interested in the non-profit sector. Standard fee: 425 euro. Special reduced fee: 350 euro. There are a limited number of scholarships available for participants from Central and Eastern Europe and Turkey. These include the tuition fee, accommodation and a per diem for lunches and dinners.

EUROPEAN CITIZENSHIP IN YOUTH WORK
June 16 - 27, 2002, Budapest, Hungary

The aim of this pilot course is to support the professional development of youth workers and youth leaders by extending their competencies to integrate European citizenship within their projects and practice. Future participants should have experience of at least two years in youth work, have organized or co-organized, developed or managed a youth project with a European dimension, are able to work in English and/or in French and are residents in a member state of the Council of Europe or in another country signatory to the European Cultural convention. All candidates must apply by using the application form. Board and lodging will be provided and paid for by the European Commission/Council of Europe Partnership. Travel expenses and visa fees are reimbursed.
